Okay, here a Mattel vs. Mattel quality issue.
Nellie and Samantha's Spring party dresses.
I think they did a rather nice job with Nellie's. Except with the hairbow. It's not historically accurate-- but it's adorable. I'll use it for my AGT's. Here's the issue-- The style of Sam's dress is accurate, (and cute) but I find it very poor quality. The material is just horrible. It is supposed to be tone on tone. I assume white on white.
It looks more like white with off green. My dress came extremely wrinkled too. When I look at the quality of this dress as opposed to.. hmmm... the talent show dress? I am just appauled.
It's not like they consistently try to put out poor quality items. Another example- Sam's Spring dress vs. Licorice's best friend outfit, both of which were released for the early Spring season. I know there was a $4 dollar price difference in these items, but I would pay $4 more for a better dress. Two more examples- the meet outfit sneakers which I thought were awful quality, (the style was cute, but the material was again poor) and the basketball uniform shoes which are great. Does Mattel think that if they sneak an occasional poor quality item in on us we are not going to catch it? I don't understand it... I'm really not trying to be irrate.
